Our inception
When starting up his previous business ventures, our founder Lee Murphy faced a problem. One he concluded that many other aspiring entrepreneurs just like himself must have been facing.
He realised that far too many small business owners were having to deal with impersonal, detached accountants operating on old-fashioned values and providing outdated services. So he decided to do something about changing the profile of modern-day tax and accounting services.
Our story so far
In 2006 – the same year Daniel Craig debuted as James Bond, Google bought YouTube for $1.65 billion and the billionth iTunes song was downloaded – The Accountancy Partnership was founded with one simple objective: to provide a refreshing alternative to stuffy accountants and unapproachable finance professionals.
Since then, The Accountancy Partnership has gone from strength to strength, growing a handpicked team of qualified professionals with over two century’s worth of combined experience in the industry.
We’ve launched our own cloud-based bookkeeping software, helped more than 14,000 clients across the country and even gained an office pooch, Percy – and this is just our story so far.

Graduated from LJMU in 2010 and became fully AAT qualified in 2017.

Joined straight from university gaining experience in a variety of roles within the business before completing my accounting exams.

As we said up there, this is just our story so far. These are the foundations we have been building on since 2006 and we don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. We will continue to reinvest time, money and energy into refining our services and the development of innovative software tools designed to simplify the lives of small business owners.
