Hey George! Tell us about your business
FytocareUK owns an olive farm at Sitia and is a member of the “Zakros Cooperative”, Sitia, Crete, Greece.
Our company represents, imports and distributes within the UK the Extra Virgin Olive Oil “ADELΦOS”, (PDO Sitia) which is produced and bottled by the Zakros Cooperative.
The EVOO comes solely from the “Koroneiki” olive tree variety. Its taste is fruity of medium intensity, moderately spicy and bitter, balanced. Due to the special climatic and soil conditions of the area the produced EVOO is of a superior quality, sensory characteristics and nutritional value and it is world wide recognized. It has won many quality awards at international olive oil competitions.

It comes in a wide range of bottled quantities from 17 litres to 50ml and can be used raw in salads, or for cooking, frying, bbq, and desserts.
It is supplied to healthy food shops, grocers, vegan shops, restaurants, catering companies, supermarkets, and health food processing companies.
What drove you to start your business?
The benefits and the importance of the Extra Virgin Olive Oil consumption in human diet is very well recognized and scientifically proved.
It is a very essential food for humans with an undisputable value of biological and nutritional value.
We believe that the EVOO ‘ADELΦOS’ satisfies all the criteria as a healthy nutritional food.
What particular challenges did you have to overcome in setting up your business, and since then?
There is a very strong competition. There are many products of different origin, quality and prices, and this variety of choice often confuses customers. Also, import and custom clearance sometimes creates delays and extra paper work.
