Give an overview of the duties, functions and responsibilities of your job.
My duties include completing Sole Trader accounts and Tax returns, VAT returns, helping out the bookkeeping team and being a member of the Pandle software support team, assisting with calls, the live chat and reviews. I am looking forward to starting training for Limited Company accounts.
What is a typical working day like for you?
My day always starts with a cup of coffee. I will respond to any emails that have come in from the evening before and then prioritise and work through my tasks for the day, keeping on top of any emails that come in throughout the day.
What particular challenges do you regularly encounter?
On occasion, I may be asked a question that I have not encountered before. Thankfully, my peers are always eager to help and I am happy to be learning from them. I have an amazing mentor who is really supportive.
What are some of the biggest challenges faced by your clients?
It can be quite overwhelming for some clients to know everything that they need to complete their bookkeeping. I am happy to talk them through and explain what is needed and how to record information accurately in Pandle.
How are you able to use your skills to solve problems for them?
I think communication is key for problem solving! I think a friendly and patient approach to queries helps put clients at ease knowing that no question is a silly question. I also try to provide as much useful information in my responses as I can, and my previous teaching experience definitely helps with this.
What is your favourite part of the job?
I enjoy the independence of being able to manage my day. I also like how every day is different, there are so many different types of business and I am always learning something new.
What do you like most about working for The Accountancy Partnership?
The people. I have made some amazing friends already and everyone is friendly and welcoming.
What skills do you find most useful to do your job?
I think time management and organisation are really important, as we have to meet tight deadlines and our 24-hour email response time.
Where’s your favourite place to visit on days off?
On weekends, I love going on walks in the countryside with my boyfriend and finding new restaurants.
Tell us about your proudest achievement.
My proudest achievement would probably be gaining my 2:1 degree in Primary Mathematics Education.
How would your colleagues describe you?
My colleagues have described me as head strong, determined, and funny.
What are you reading/binge watching at the moment?
The Office US will always be my go-to binge-worthy series, however, I am currently loving Yellowstone.
Who do you admire, and why?
My mum, she is so strong selfless and supportive.

If you had to be any pasta shape what would you be? Rigatoni.
