Staff Spotlight: Siwan Jones, Marketing Executive

Give an overview of the duties, functions, and responsibilities of your job.

My role’s pretty varied, which I love. I create social media content, manage our email marketing, and edit videos to help explain things in a more engaging way.

What is a typical working day like for you?

I always start my day by checking and replying to emails, just to get everything in order. After that, it really depends on what I’ve got on.

What particular challenges do you regularly encounter?

Some of the accountancy terms and info can be a bit tricky to get your head around, especially when you’re trying to turn it into clear, engaging content. It can be hard to know if you’ve got it 100% right, but the team are always really helpful if I need to double check anything.

What is your favourite part of the job?

Definitely the variety. I like being able to work on lots of different things and not feel stuck doing one task all the time. Also, everyone’s really open to sharing ideas, so it feels like a proper team effort.

What do you like most about working for The Accountancy Partnership?

The team for sure. There’s loads of experience across different areas of marketing, so you’re always learning something new, and there’s never a shortage of ideas being thrown around.

What skills do you find most useful to do your job?

My design and creative skills have been really useful, especially when it comes to picking up the TAP branding and applying it across everything I make. Whether it’s social posts, videos or emails, it helps me keep things looking consistent but still interesting.

Where’s your favourite place to visit on days off?

I love going for brunch and a coffee on Lark Lane, then heading for a walk around Sefton Park!

Tell us about your proudest achievement.

In my final year at uni, I got a Merit in the Student Assessment ISTD Awards (International Society of Typographic Designers) for an editorial project I did about our relationship with the sun. It was a project where I could really focus on the details of typography and design, which I loved, so it felt really rewarding to be recognised for it.

How would your colleagues describe you?

I asked and I got: hilarious, good at making sausage rolls, a walking ray of sunshine, a level-headed chill gal who has a boujee appetite, a calming presence, lover of party rings and iced gems, funnier than Karl, Hatchooooo and best of all “she’s alright”.

What are you reading/binge watching at the moment?

I’ve just started watching The Bear on Disney+ and it’s so good! But I also love going back and re-watching old episodes of Gavin and Stacey as it’s such a classic.

What question would you really like to answer, and what’s the answer?!

Is rugby better than football? Yes, yes it is.
